i disagree that gabriella is a misogynistic caricature simply because she has control over lestat. she always did in the books, and i think in the show, it still displays that he was her only agency in their mortal lives and he would do anything for her. even taking on wolves

upon rewatching the scene i realized the only time lestat drops the playful front and pushes against gabriella is when claudia is mentioned and then he starts singing in french knowing it would upset her.
