the US government just shut down Anthropic's two most powerful models overnight remember my last post about Dario calling for governments to have the power to block dangerous AI models? well, the US government just did exactly that and before you say it, no, this wasn't a marketing stunt they ordered Anthropic to shut down Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for every user worldwide their reason is that someone found a way to bypass Fable's safety guardrails but Anthropic reviewed the exact technique the government flagged and found that GPT-5.5 can already do the same thing so Anthropic is complying but they're pushing back as they said: "This action does not adhere to those principles" the same principles Dario publicly called for just days ago what are your thoughts on this?

The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected.
