Can confirm that Lake Mendota is currently gross.
If you process the #Sentinel2 image differently, you can see bright blue (turquoise) at the north of the lake, as well as by Spring Harbor. Dying scums of cyanobacteria? Calcium carbonate precipitation?
Satellites are cool.

Been a little obsessed lately with mapping in crochet. Here’s bathymetry for Lake Mendota in worsted weight wool and acrylic. Each stitch roughly equals 300 sq meters, and each layer represents a depth change of 10 meters. #gischat

The foxes agree the (public) golf course should be a city park.

So when Glenway Golf Course in Madison was redesigned, the greens were built with a base of sand, not dirt. And that drew the foxes, who love to dig in sand. Three of the fox found themselves in a study on translocation by the @UWCanidProject. madison.com/news/local/foxes…
