Ahead of the commencement of the holy annual pilgrimage, Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026, on July 3, Shri Gyanendra Pratap Singh, IPS (Sir), DG, CRPF, personally reviewed the on-ground security arrangements and troop deployment in Jammu & Kashmir.
Meanwhile, under the strict directions of the DG,
@crpfindia , the Force has intensified counter-terror operations across the higher ridges and plains along the key Yatra routes. Security measures include enhanced surveillance, route sanitization, convoy protection, and multi-tier security checkpoints to ensure the safe movement of pilgrims.
The DG, CRPF, further emphasised that inter-agency coordination must be strengthened to ensure a safe and incident-free pilgrimage.
Special Mahila CRPF units will also be deployed this year for crowd management, operational duties, and providing additional assistance and care.
On Day 3 of this crucial visit, the DG chaired a high-level security meeting with senior officials and ground commanders at GC Srinagar. He reiterated that the focus is on maintaining normalcy, intensifying operations, and ensuring a safe and peaceful Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026.
During his three-day visit to the Kashmir Valley, which commenced on June 9, the DG interacted with troops, ground commanders, and all concerned stakeholders in Srinagar, Gund, and Baltal. As always, DG Sir’s personal visit reinforced his faith in the Force and boosted the morale of the personnel, who have been dedicating their days and nights to the service of the nation.
The DG concluded his three-day tour with crystal-clear directions: perform duties with utmost vigilance and extra care, strengthen security coverage, and ensure a safe, secure, and incident-free Shri Amarnath Yatra 2026.
