Every child's circumstances are different, and their interests must come first. Thank you to all our staff and partners who help children maintain and strengthen often complex relationships with their parents in prison.
@ChildrenHandS
Today is the first-ever National Children with a Parent in Prison Day!
This has been many years in the making, and we are so appreciative of every single person who has raised awareness of this issue to help make this happen.
Prisons, schools, community groups and other charitable organisations all across the country are holding their own awareness events to mark this day - to amplify the hidden voices of children with a parent in prison.
Our team are at Westminster Chapel for the Parental Imprisonment Lived Experience Conference, joined by over 100 academics, teachers, social workers, third sector workers, police officers, MPs, Lords and Ministers - all dedicated to ensuring children with a parent in prison are heard and seen.
