My latest for @kqedbaycurious and @KQED is about the lovely sex worker rights activist @carol_leigh.
When I talked to Carol before she died, I had no idea how rich her life was. She really gave to the culture. Happy to help add a little more to her legacy.
The term came to Leigh in 1978 when she attended a workshop hosted by a group of feminists in San Francisco.

If the Jets win the superbowl today, it will be big for them but more importantly it will be huge for me. I never thought I’d see the day that an American team with a field of talent so deep, would storm the goal posts on a clay court thousands of miles away from home, with the chance of clinching not only a grand slam but a flawless victory, mere days away from scrimmage. The rock n roll hall of fame better make some room, because mama’s coming home with a few trophies tonight, not to mention a plaque or two. It’s crunch time fellas.
