So far -- emphasis so far -- UK weekly death toll from all causes this year is below the five-year average. But note how we catch up with the average by March 20. The past two weeks and the next two will be crucial in measuring Covid-19's impact on UK deaths.

Given there are plenty of question marks abt what constitutes a “genuine” #COVID19 death, a key measure of the severity of this crisis will be whether the bars in this chart significantly overshoot the 5yr average. This data comes out each week. I'll be keeping a close eye on it
