For 25 years Hunger Task Force and The Gathering have partnered to feed Milwaukee families. Support from Hunger Task Force now accounts for 70% of the food served, making it possible to meet this growing demand and serve more than 127,000 meals each year.

The Farm Bill isn’t just about farms and agriculture. It's a massive piece of legislation that gets renewed roughly every five years, and a huge chunk of it affects SNAP.

The farm bill scheduled for a House floor vote this week does nothing to address this unfolding crisis — and could make it worse by providing sweeping authority for states to outsource core SNAP eligibility functions to private companies with minimal oversight.
