the spacex ipo turned my $2.5m into $12.6m
and i can't touch a single dollar of it.
until today i've only shared my crypto portfolio. this is the first look at the other side of the book.
backstory: when i sold my solana in january 2025, i rolled part of the winnings into spacex through a private equity fund. i invested $2.5m at a $350b valuation. $SPCX lists today at $1.77 trillion.
zero genius involved here. i was fortunate. right place, right time.
now the strange part. i'm locked up and can't sell a share. the private fund still marks the position at the $800b valuation, so even my own statement is behind reality.
what i put in: $2.5m
what my statement says: $5.66m (at the $800b mark)
what the ipo price says: $12.6m
screenshot below. fund name stays private.
by the time the lockup ends this could be a very different number, up or down.

Tried this new RWA perps platform today.
They're handing out $100k in weekly rewards to pull traders in.
Then I hit the deposit button, and it's USDC on Ethereum only. That's it.
This is where the funnel dies.
Native multichain deposits plus any asset zaps would 5x conversion and actually justify what they're spending on rewards.

Just got rejected by a founder because I'm not based in NYC.
Vibes were great, GTM was discussed, the conversation felt like it was going somewhere real. Then the location question came up and that was it.
This has happened twice now in the last 10 days.
This industry grew up remote.
Teams built protocols without ever sharing an office. Founders met at conferences and shipped products across continents. Geography was never the filter.
It is now.
For teams hiring: the next great operator, dev, or growth lead might not be in your city. They might never want to be.
That used to be fine. It should still be fine.
To everyone job hunting in this space: it's not you. The market is going through an identity crisis.

The Holy Trinity is dead. Sadly due to the Orchard Pool exploit, I had to dump our entire $ZEC bag.
- While I think it's extremely unlikely of any minting, it cannot be formally cryptographically proved impossible
- The privacy from AI, govt, big tech narrative demands perfection not improbability
- I read about the exploit yday, and didn't appreciate how it violated my narrative mental map. The 30% dump, made me rethink, and I had to take profit on the entire position
- We will consistently re-evaluate our thinking and if my assumptions are proven incorrect, will rebuy, hopefully at lower prices.
- Privacy is priceless and I have no issue eating humble pie and rebuying much higher.
We still hold $WLD and are excited for Lord Elon to pump our bags.
