The #ommabysplinebuildathon on @contra was the perfect opportunity to dive into a new tool & the potential of @omma_ai is mind-blowing! I built a low-poly, interactive ocean environment featuring sea creatures, a research vessel, and, of course, an ROV for deep-sea exploring!

As a long time Spline user, I feel like generative 3D was the last "frontier" and it's so exciting to see the team at Spline make it a reality. The level of control and creativity you get with Omma feels incredibly powerful – much more so than image, video etc.

It got me thinking about how generative 3D tools could transform science communication and education. What if educators could easily create custom, interactive experiences for their learners with just a prompt? The potential there feels huge and that's what inspired my build!

I’m all for saving the environment but that’s going to taste disgusting.

This should absolutely terrify you. We live in an age of rising authoritarianism. The prospect of a right-wing authoritarian government in the UK is far from a fantasy. Combine with ever more sophisticated surveillance tech - and consider how dissent could be made impossible.

BREAKING: Digital ID to be made law for all adults in the UK. The proposals are the government's latest attempt to tackle illegal immigration, with the ID serving as a form of proof of the right to live and work in the UK. @MhariAurora reports. trib.al/ccTgxuY

In a decent country this is the end of her career. A congressman using a slur to blame a minority for violence with no evidence is so evil that I shouldn’t even need to say anything about it. But clearly, we’re not even people to most Americans. Imagine if this was the n word.
Nancy Mace today: “It sounds like the shooter was a tranny, or pro-tranny.” Law enforcement tonight: We have idea who the shooter is.

The biggest thing Zach Polanski has revealed is that every other politician is in an agreed performance with the media where they’ll all say the same thing, and that the media has no idea what to do when you have someone who won’t play on their terms

Ken Murphy is Tesco’s UK CEO and the highest paid supermarket boss. He gets £9,930,000 a year, but is registered to pay tax in the Republic of Ireland. Not a penny of his outrageous salary is collected in tax, despite almost all Tesco’s earnings coming from the UK. It’s theft.
Community note
This has been comprehensively debunked by tax expert Dan Neidle linkedin.com/posts/danneidl… (And even if he were resident in Ireland, the combined tax and NICs rate on personal income is slightly higher than in the UK) This tweeter blocked Neidle when challenged, and should not be trusted on tax.

76% of extremist-related killings in the last decade have been committed by right-wingers. 4% by leftists. Trump, Musk and co are trying to paint political violence as just a left issue. It's not even close to true.

Say what you like about Banksy, but with these two pictures, he's managed to sum up the attitude of 'British democracy' to free speech when it comes to Israel and the genocide in Gaza. Trotsky once said that art must tell the truth. I'd say he's met that standard.

I've been a Twitter user since April 2008 — when it was still just a platform for sending group SMS messages. This is the social platform I loved the most, and where I grew my biggest community, so I've been hesitant to leave completely. But, besides platforming Nazis…

…, this site has become totally unusable in recent months. Platforms like Bluesky are successfully recreating the community magic of early twitter with the added benefits of decentralisation and good UX. Musk killed something great — let's make something better elsewhere.

Millennials were taught media literacy. We had to provide sources for everything, and it couldn’t be Wikipedia. We had to actually go to the library and pull out encyclopedias. Gen-Z lives in a much different media ecosystem.
