Big tax bill doubles down on a 2017 export subsidy that mostly went to Big Tech. No evidence that it brought back jobs. Now it's become an even more generous windfall that rewards a broader set of corporations for something they might do anyway, as I told @RichardRubinDC.
New from me today: US exporters -- particularly those with significant research expenses and domestic factories -- scored a big win in the tax law. Link below.

This comparsion in the NYTimes today is pretty stark. China is racing ahead to be a high-tech exporter of 21st century technologies, while the US is doubling down on being a petro-state exporting the technologies of the 19th century: nytimes.com/interactive/2025…

1. Trump's tax cuts overwhelmingly help the rich 2. His spending cuts are targeted at the poor 3. Tariffs cost the poor a larger share of their income Roll these three regressive policies together and you get the largest redistribution from poor to rich in American history.

There are a lot of ways that our tax code incentivizes profit shifting and offshoring, but the so-called "round-tripping" loophole is one of the most egregious Grateful to Ranking Member @RonWyden and his colleagues for introducing this commonsense reform finance.senate.gov/ranking-m…

I've been in El Salvador all day fighting for the return of Mr. Abrego Garcia. The Trump Admin can lie all they want, but the Court said they failed to show he was part of MS-13. This is about bringing home a man they ADMIT should've never been abducted. I won't rest until then.
