Layered vendors. This is a high-risk structure if not actively monitored. Basic safeguards should be routine: ✔ Verify a medical appointment occurred before paying transport ✔ Match interpreter time to actual encounter ✔ Flag duplicate billing ✔ Run cross-program analytics This isn’t complicated. It’s program integrity 101. DHS leadership says they are “tackling fraud.” If so: Where are the published audit summaries? Where are the complaint trend reports? Where are the corrective action updates? Taxpayers fund the oversight salaries too. This isn’t about attacking providers. It’s about protecting Medicaid and state funds. Minnesotans are paying for oversight. Oversight must be visible, documented, and enforced. Is that too much to ask?
