More squalid degeneracy from this administration — who exactly is this for? Only 16% of the American public thinks UFC at the White House is appropriate.
UFC has become a global phenomenon by embracing values that resonate far beyond the Octagon: excellence, discipline, opportunity, and meritocracy. Proud to launch a new Sports Diplomacy partnership with @UFC and grateful to host @DanaWhite for the signing of our MOU.

How many fights/brawls were there this year at school graduation ceremonies? Fifteen have been documented so far. Predictably, none of these incidents occurred at predominantly white or Asian schools.

There's no conclusion that can be drawn from this. This is completely within the norms of a civilized high-functioning society. There are no patterns. Teens will be teens, youths will be youths. No further discussion is necessary, and no further comments will be welcome.

The elderly yet childish president of the United States, obsessed with the continuing popularity of a former president, posting slop on social media. This is what you voted for, right?

The world's first trillionaire's last words to me (in a reply to one of my tweets) was, "WTF is wrong with you?" He then unfollowed me and unsubscribed to me.
The first trillionaire retweeted me once

To his credit, I had been criticizing him and DOGE for weeks. I was surprised it took him as long as it did to unfollow me. I do miss getting 150 million views a month (and the hefty Elonbux) back when he used to retweet me and reply to me. (I get maybe 20% of the number of those views in a good month now).

There are three main tiers of grocery shopping in my extremely racially diverse town: (1) There's an obscenely priced supermarket loaded up with specialty items where 90% of the customers are white and Asian. Main feature: Dead quiet. (2) There's a Costco where most of the customers are lower middle-class whites, but there are also plenty of older blacks and young Hispanics. Main feature: Lots of couples shopping together. (3) Then there's the discount supermarket which is mostly noisy black people and quiet Mayan women (with their well-behaved kids in tow) and the occasional tattooed white lesbian. Main feature: Lots of arguments with staff and unspeakably awful music playing in background.

"claims" There has not been, to my knowledge, a single reasonably selective major university in the US in over a half-century that has admitted black applicants who were, on average, as academically qualified (measured by SAT/GPA) as white applicants. Not one.
UC Davis favored less qualified Black, Latino med school applicants, Justice Department claims latimes.com/california/story…

What does the average black applicant to Columbia, with an SAT score (1320) that no Asian or white student would even think of applying with, do with his University of South Carolina-level score? If he's smart, he doesn't submit his score to Columbia admissions. What does the average Asian applicant to Columbia, with an SAT score (1500) higher than the vast majority of black applicants, do with his amazing SAT score? He makes sure the admissions committee sees it, because if he doesn't, he's toast. If this system seems incredibly racist to you, it's because it is.
35 percent of recent Columbia classes arrived without submitting an SAT: 63 percent of Black students, 46 percent of Hispanic students, and 17 percent of East Asian students don't submit scores.

Everyday I am besieged with information about and from the two far ends of the political spectrum that makes me want to punch a wall or disconnect from the "news". I imagine it must be so much easier just to be a partisan and only have to be steamed at one of the two sides.
The Zohran Mamdani-backed socialist challenging incumbent Democratic congressman Adriano Espaillat in New York City “co-created a bizarre, DEI-crazed college course that advocated for abolishing schools, which it accused of fueling ‘genocide,’ ‘white supremacy,’ and ‘settler colonialism’ among other ills,” @LevineJonathan reports.

Architecture firm: Albert Speer & Associates, Berlin. Rightwing authoritarians love retrograde "heroic" kitsch.
The U.S. government just unveiled the majestic Greco-Deco design for the new federal courthouse in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The building is at once monumental and welcoming, classical and original. The iris capitals are an inspired touch, drawing on Tennessee’s natural beauty and weaving it into the stone of a federal building. The Chattanooga courthouse is precisely the kind of building that President Trump’s Executive Order on federal architecture—“Making Federal Buildings Beautiful Again”—was designed to produce. When the courthouse is completed, it will stand as the living proof that the Order represents wise and humane public policy—something all Americans, regardless of political party, can and should support. Beautiful public buildings are not a partisan matter; they belong to everyone.

Although my vote would be for the first option, I still find it amazing how few votes Putin is getting.

A question for American rightwingers: Would you rather have (1) an equity-based "multicultural democracy" in which the clear majority of the population — and therefore the majority of elected officials — were composed of people with ancestry in historically and persistently under-performing groups (e.g., Somalis, Afghans, Congolese) from the "global south", or (2) a clear majority of the population be European, but governed by a foreign Chinese technocratic elite that valued efficiency and productivity (while tolerating most European cultural norms)?
Replying to @airish1 @avidseries
If you get rid of the CCP and Putin, but the West is still overrun by the global south and its own undeperforming domestic minorities, we still lose. Probably better to live under Chinese technocrats.

In the post-Watergate and post-Vietnam nadir of the mid-70s — one of the lowest periods in US history — this same sentiment was expressed in newspaper op-eds as the Bicentennial approached. I'm not crazy about where America is today, but its position is better now than it was in 1976, and it's worth noting that some of its best years came after the 70s, despite what all the op-eds predicted. It's probably never a good idea to count America out.

I just want to assure everyone reading this insane excerpt that there are currently ZERO scientists publishing research in reputable scientific journals who believe that intelligence isn't influenced by heritable factors.
This is a very crazy thing to believe and definitely shuldn't be the basis of ed policy decisions nymag.com/intelligencer/arti…
