ALT A series of 10 round monster faces showing emotions at different stages of debugging. Generally, they start off hopeful, then baffled, then in meltdown mode, then take a nap, then have a breakthrough, and find and celebrate a solution. The different stages are numbered 1 through 10. Based on survey results (n = 44), arrows arcs between the different stages are added to show the frequency of different paths, with arrow weights indicating the frequency. Overall there are many back and forth arrows, with few dominant paths. Luckily, the heaviest arrow ends at 10 (a monster celebrating after finding a solution!).
