Its tomato season and at Sunny Hill #ecovillage so we spend the morning preserving some of their delicious, organic, sunripened tomato's! We boil some of them to make salsa and others we dry. The view from the outdoor kitchen makes the work feel like holiday :)

Making spinach quiche at Sunny Hill #ecovillage in Slovenia! I milled the local, organic spelt to make flower and handpicked the swiss chard from their #organic #permaculture garden. Swiss chard is similar to but grows better than spinach in this hot, dry climate

On my expedition along #ecovillages I do not fly, so getting from central Finland to the @GENEurope #ecovillageconference in Italy has been quite a journey!! I came through Helsinki, Stockholm, Gdansk, Prague & Florence, now waiting for my last bus in Siena

Had an inspiring time at Katajamäki #ecovillage in central Finland, a #community which supports traditional and tribal healing practices. These hold valuable knowledge of collaborating with local biodiversity to support livelihoods.

#community effort can make work go fast; at vaunumaki #ecovillage in one fun day we made a fence around the vegetable garden to keep the deers from eating the crops. Putting hands together for a shared problem

The Finnish national television came to Vaunumaki #ecovillage to document a moveable art project. The self-built house is a statement that housing can be creative, healthy & loan-free, using reclaimed and natural materials, allowing to spend time with children rather than working

At vaunumaki #ecovillage they live in close collaboration with their local ecosystem. Drinking water they get from a beautiful small spring close to their land. Living like this creates appreciation of nature & humbleness with regards to polluting or impacting the land!
