2) prior to video it would've been very hard to persuade anyone that they did anything wrong
3) but show people what happened and many are rightly infuriated

re: cross-AZ traffic. We intended for NSQ clients to make “intelligent” decisions on which nsqd to connect to from what it got from nsqlookupd. E.g. in this case, rather than a proxy, the client could parse deterministic hostnames and ignore anything not in its AZ.
