Myth: accessibility is only about ramps. Truth: it also covers websites, documents, bookings, communication and service design. Check one customer journey this week and remove one barrier. inclusophy.co.uk/#AccessibilityMyths#UKBusiness
How confident are you that your website works for everybody?
Could someone with sight loss use it? Could somebody complete a purchase using assistive technology? Could users actually navigate it without barriers?
What frustrates you most about websites?

What information do you wish was always available before you arrive somewhere?
For many people, the difference between a confident visit and a stressful one comes down to the information available in advance. Is there step-free access? Where is the entrance? Is audio description available? Are menus available in braille, large print, or accessible digital formats? Is there good lighting, clear signage, or a quiet space?
When this information is easy to find, people can make informed choices and participate with confidence. When it isn’t, many people simply decide not to go.
We’d love to hear from you. What information do you always look for before visiting somewhere new? Share your thoughts and experiences in the comments 👇

Mythbusting Monday There’s a common belief that accessibility requests are rare. The reality is very different. Many people experience barriers every day — but most never report them. Sometimes they assume nothing will change. Sometimes they simply go elsewhere.
That’s why proactive accessibility matters. When organisations remove barriers before people have to ask, they create services that work for more people, build trust, and demonstrate genuine inclusion.
Accessibility isn’t about reacting to complaints. It’s about designing experiences where everyone can participate from the start.

This week’s Wednesday Win: announce delays or changes clearly .
Announcements on screens alone are not enough — especially in GP surgeries and hospitals. Many people with sight loss or cognitive differences rely on audible information and clear verbal updates. Without it, they miss vital instructions and appointments become confusing and stressful.
At Inclusophy, we work with healthcare providers to train staff and design systems that keep everyone informed. Whether it’s ensuring front desk staff make clear announcements or auditing your entire patient journey, we help you create accessible, inclusive environments where nobody gets left in the dark.
If you’d like help reviewing your practices or training your team, email access@inclusophy.co.uk .

What do people assume is accessible — but isn’t?
It might be a “step-free” entrance that still has a heavy manual door.
A website that looks clean but can’t be navigated with a keyboard.
A venue that says “accessible toilets” but stores boxes in them.
A cinema that lists audio description — but only at limited times.
Assumption is one of the biggest barriers in accessibility. And it’s often unintentional.
At Inclusophy, we help organisations move beyond assumption and towards evidence — through audits, lived-experience insight, and practical recommendations that work in the real world.
What have you encountered that was labelled accessible… but wasn’t? Let’s start an honest conversation 👇

What’s the first thing you check when entering a new place?
For some, it’s the lighting.
For others, it’s step-free access.
Clear signage. Quiet spaces. Staff attitude. Layout. Menu formats.
The first few seconds in a new environment can determine whether someone feels confident — or whether they’re already planning how quickly they can leave.
We’re interested in your experience. What’s the very first thing you look for?
Let’s get a real conversation going 👇

This week’s Wednesday Win: make booking systems keyboard-friendly. If your booking system only works with a mouse, it’s not accessible.
Many blind users, people with mobility impairments, and keyboard-only users rely on the Tab key to navigate websites. When calendar pickers, time slots, or buttons can’t be reached without clicking, that’s a barrier — and often a lost customer.
This is one of the most common issues we identify in accessibility audits. And the fix isn’t complicated. Booking systems should work fully with a keyboard, just as smoothly as they do with a mouse.
Accessibility isn’t an add-on. It’s good design.
If you’d like support reviewing or improving your booking system, email access@inclusophy.co.uk .
