Since GPT o3, I've been trying to convert Knuth's TeX engine from Pascal to TypeScript. With 2x limits in the Codex app, GPT 5.3 Codex (xhigh reasoning) finally did it.

The results of the research happening in my team @GoogleDeepMind have convinced me that the next era of scientific discovery will be aided by AI agents acting as force multipliers for human ingenuity. That’s why I’m proud to introduce Gemini for Science - a collection of experimental science tools designed to support researchers at every stage of the research process. The tools include: 1️⃣ Literature Insights, built with Google NotebookLM, searches millions of scientific papers to synthesize findings and generate artifacts including data tables, slides, reports, and more. 2️⃣ Hypothesis Generation, built with Co-Scientist, simulates the scientific method via a multi-agent "idea tournament" to generate, debate, and rigorously evaluate research hypotheses. 3️⃣Computational Discovery, built with AlphaEvolve and ERA, is an agentic engine that generates and scores thousands of code variations in parallel, allowing researchers to test modeling approaches in fields like epidemiology in a fraction of the usual time. 4/ We propose the Agent-Native Research Artifact (ARA): a protocol that recasts the primary research object from a narrative document into an executable knowledge package, with four interlocking layers. The paper, if you still want one, is a compiled view of the artifact, not the source.

The real reason for building it, beyond it just being a fun algorithmic puzzle, was because my then-collaborator @stephen_wolfram and I wanted to perform an empirical investigation: to systematically enumerate possible axiom systems, and see what theorems were true. (2/15)

For the past few months, @pierrecomputer has been working on a brand new primitive, Trees. Just like Diffs, it’s an incredibly fast, modern, and beautiful library for rendering lists of files and folders.

A Visual Thought Partner ChatGPT Images 2.0 is our first image model with thinking capabilities. When a thinking model is selected in ChatGPT, Images 2.0 can search the web for real-time information, create multiple distinct images from one prompt, double-check its own outputs, and even create functional QR codes. This allows it to take on more of the heavy lifting between idea and image, especially when accuracy, up-to-date information, consistency, and visual cohesion matter most.

“We are entering a time where applications will come and go, and as always, data outlives all of them.”
For two decades, S3 has been an object store, but today it's something broader. S3 Files lets you mount any bucket as a filesystem—no copies, no sync scripts, no choosing between file and object. @andywarfield tells the full story, including the "filerectories" that almost made the cut. allthingsdistributed.com/202…

He was working on our recently released multi-modal cardiologist MARCUS (arxiv.org/abs/2603.22179) and had neglected to uncomment a key line of code that gave the model access to the images. Despite that, the model answered all the questions and scored highly on the benchmark.
