Starting something new. After nearly 13 years @ Apple, I'm moving on to build something of my own. Working on one main product idea, plus a couple side projects. I'll also be doing some contracting work along the way when the fit is right. Looking forward to the challenge and exploring where this goes.

Since leaving WWDC I've slept 11 hours one night, and today had a 2hr nap. Both uncharacteristic for me. Starting to feel back to normal which is nice.

Got my first (only) 1 star review because they don't want to pay for an app. Think this is the correct way to respond...
Screenshot of an App Store review. The customer said: It doesn't make sense for me to pay for it in Italian. John Marc replied with Howdy! Thank you for the feedback. Each version released requires hours of work to localize, market, and build new features. Every update includes work to ensure we are accessible to all users including those with vision needs. The latest version added support for more languages, saving frequent groups and improvements to the experience. The app description, intro and paywalls all mention that the first game is free, and is $3.99 (USD) / € 3.99 for unlimited use, free updates for life, and up to 6 members of an iCloud family to use the app with those same conditions for free. As an individual developer 1 am open to feedback and if you'd like to chat more about what I could add to make it worth € 3.99 in your mind I'd love to chat more. This morning, I had a meeting with my sister to discuss a new project she needed for a thesis/class work. (She’s a nurse; I'm not) I quickly used @HeyGen’s Live Avatar to create a mockup of an experience and test the idea. About 2 hours of work and up and running.

Apple just dropped a research paper called HeadsUp days before WWDC. Trained on 10,000 real faces to reconstruct a fully animatable 3D Gaussian Splat that you can rotate and light. Excited to see Personas in visionOS 27.
