The Prachov Rocks, known as the "Emperor's Corridor," are a striking rock formation located in the Czech Republic just to the west of the town of Jicin.
These rock formations, which are around 60 million years old, have been designated as a protected natural reserve since 1933. The region where you can find these formations is called Bohemian Paradise, known as Cesky ráj in Czech.
These unique formations are composed of sandstone, originally forming a plateau. Over the course of more than 60 million years, these rocks have been shaped by the forces of wind and rain into the distinct and fascinating forms you'll encounter in the area.
The "corridor" is a natural path formed between the rocks, providing a remarkable hiking experience. Many of the individual rock towers have been given names inspired by their shapes, such as the Leaning Tower, Devil's Kitchen, the Monk, the Elephant, and the Eagle.
The beauty and uniqueness of this landscape have made it a popular location for filming various major productions, including "Carnival Row," "Britannia," "Little Mermaid," "Van Helsing," "The Mists of Avalon," and the original "Hellboy."
