Africa once again becomes the heartbeat of global road safety as leaders, influencers, policymakers, and humanitarian champions gather for the International Road Crash Victims African Conference themed; “Gathering the World in Africa for Road Crash Victims.” From the arrival of dignitaries to the powerful opening ceremony, the two day session reflects a continent united in compassion, innovation, and action. With the presence of FRSC, KRSD, global agencies, traditional institutions, and international partners, this conference marks a new dawn for the protection of every road user across Africa.
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Distinguished Senator George Akume CON, reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to the UN Decade of Action for Road Safety. Eminent voices including state governors, ministers, agency heads, and development partners also delivered goodwill messages, each echoing the urgency of saving lives and supporting survivors. As the Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed gives the Vote of Thanks, the message is loud and clear: Africa is not waiting; Africa is leading. Together, we honour victims, empower survivors, and strengthen the resolve to make every journey safe. The world has gathered… and Africa is rising.
