Uganda will not end HIV by 2030 unless we address a critical gap: Grassroots community health workers, activists, and CBOs are overworked and severely under-resourced. Yet, they are the backbone of our response. #EndHIV #CandleLight2030Uganda @NelsonMusoba @aidscommission @ahfugandacares @Amref_Uganda @OkirorBenjamin5 @chpuga1 @JINJANYPA

Kampala's slums need an urban renewal plan. We can build decent housing and infrastructure for bonafide inhabitants of the capital city. We would use the money we save from thieves.

If we are serious about epidemic control, then investment must shift closer to the community. We call upon @AIDSCommission, @aidshealthcare, @CehurdUganda, @Amref_Worldwide and partners: Let’s strengthen the systems that are already working. At @chpuga1, we are preparing for #CandleLight2026 (May 15–17, Buikwe District). This is more than a memorial -it is a platform for awareness, prevention, and community solidarity.

Across fishing communities, informal settlements, and rural areas, local organizations are: Supporting adherence to treatment, Leading prevention efforts, Reaching the most vulnerable populations; BUT they are doing this with minimal support.

Today, while engaging fellow grassroots leaders at @JINJANYPA, we reflected on a shared reality: Life-saving community initiatives are struggling, not due to lack of commitment, but due to limited, inconsistent funding. @huzairu_nyanzi @OkirorBenjamin5

Creators have been asking for one simple thing for years: a system where effort actually matters. That’s exactly what @RallyOnChain is building, and the recent updates prove they’re not just talking, they’re executing based on real community feedback. Take the Minimum Sorsa Score for example. This isn’t just another metric, it’s a filter that separates intentional creators from low-effort farmers. If your content doesn’t meet a certain quality threshold, it simply won’t compete. That changes everything. For real creators, this means: Your time is no longer diluted by spam Your creativity has a fair chance to shine Your consistency actually compounds into results Another strong move is the Max Winners per Period. This directly limits repetitive dominance and opens the door for more deserving voices. Instead of the same accounts farming rewards, new and consistent contributors now have space to grow. Compare that to most platforms where bots flood the system, engagement is manufactured, and rewards rarely reflect real value. Rally is clearly choosing a different path, one that prioritizes quality over noise. What stands out most is the listening loop. Community speaks, Rally ships. Whether it’s manual banning, improved referrals, or stricter scoring, every update points in one direction: fairness. This is how you build a meritocratic creator economy. Not by hype Not by volume But by rewarding those who actually show up and create with intent If this direction continues, Rally won’t just be another platform, it’ll become the standard creators measure fairness against.

Restoring Hope & Building Communities Together ~Last week, we visited Bussede S.S and Namaganga Primary School, stepping into a world where many girls live with big dreams—but also with daily challenges that are rarely spoken about. ~Through this visit, we provided menstrual health education and distributed sanitary pads to girls facing difficult circumstances in the surrounding slum communities. ~What stood out most wasn’t only the need for pads—it was the need for knowledge, dignity, and hope. For many of these girls, periods bring fear, shame, and silence. ~We were able to replace those feelings with understanding: helping them learn that menstruation is natural, that they deserve respect, and that they have a right to stay in school and keep their futures alive. ~This activity was made possible through the support of @SpireJim and @AFRIpads.Because of your partnership, education reaches beyond classrooms—directly into communities where support can change a life in real and lasting ways. ~When we help a girl manage her menstrual health, we’re not only providing a product—we’re strengthening her confidence, protecting her health, and encouraging her to continue learning without interruption. ~Let this be a reminder: hope is restored one conversation, one pad, and one girl at a time. And communities are built when we come together with compassion and action. @_Hadassahj_ @AFRIpads @Ali_WhalesPad @ismailcoord @hepsuganda @G4G_Africa @UNYPA1
