“Shut up, traitorous appeaser. You will pay the price eventually. Tick f***ing tock.” Online posts this week called for my execution, my home to be burnt down & my kids hurt. The far right want to freeze their critics into silence. They will never win. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sunda…

Long read on Northern Ireland’s week of chaos: What it’s like inside a riot, being threatened by paramilitaries at a 'peaceful protest', being assaulted by a masked man, and why we can expect this to return again and again and again. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/comme…

Some in politics have opted to pussyfoot around their criticism of racially motivated violence here. Aggression towards minorities came long before “legitimate concerns” - I was put out of my home over a decade ago. @BelTel tinyurl.com/ye52zxzy

I’ve just read a piece from a high-profile British journalist, which will be widely read, that explores the reasons for the Belfast riots without going into any local dynamics. Too many journalists are acting like Belfast and Southampton are interchangeable. They’re not.

Diamonds News is on Facebook, Threads, Instagram and BlueSky for Newspaper Headlines…. After an avalanche of hate and nastiness on X yesterday to a honest post my days on here may be numbered I also thank the many positive responses but the hate was awful I have blocked most.

✍️ | Crucial insight here from @abdullah_sabri_ - people from ethnic minority backgrounds being put out of their homes is sadly nothing new. Louder and more noticeable at the minute, but even when disorder dies down it continues, subtle and insidious. belfasttelegraph.co.uk/comme…

Be no roads blocked round Belfast tomorrow night, I'd say. It's the Belsonic Farmer's Bash and it would be sheer folly to stop the boot-cut denim influx in SUVs wanting to see Derek Ryan and Hugo Duncan.

For the third consecutive day, Northern Ireland's public transport company Translink is pulling services over fears of further rioting. There'll be no bus services in Belfast after 5.30pm. For all the latest, follow the comprehensive @BelTel live blog: belfasttelegraph.co.uk/news/…

Seems notable that PSNI are ‘appealing’ to social media companies to stop hosting material which is ‘encouraging disorder’ but no sense that they can actually do anything about it. PSNI add they will take action against individuals posting ‘criminal messages’ but no arrests yet.

I am absolutely disgusted to hear that a nurse from another country was chased by masked men into work the Ulster hospital. This is sickening, cowardly racism and deserves nothing but utter revulsion from everyone in NI. I hope the PSNI can identify and apprehend them.

Back to the future. Dozens of De Loreans are preparing to head over to Belfast this evening.
