Laura Kuenssberg to James Cartlidge: "You were a defence Minister in the last govt, so you know a lot about these things" She could have therefore maybe also asked him if he knows how UK defence got into such a parlous state in the first place #bbclaurak #BBCBreakfast

I am a single mother, and today my son became a doctor. I’m happy, but no one congratulated him because I am just an ordinary person. 🥹😥🙏🏻

✅ Michael Heseltine on 🔥 “Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage should hang their heads in shame for the damage they caused to Britain by leading the campaign that saw it leave the EU. He said that 10 years on from the EU referendum the “bankruptcy” of their claims that Brexit would bring huge benefits to the UK had been exposed and led voters to believe that it should be reversed. The British public had been “lied” to in a “heinous crime”. Brexit was a “self-imposed disaster” and it is time for Britain to “reclaim our traditional role as a major European nation” and rejoin the EU

She put up the “104” balloons herself… and still waited in silence, hoping one person would say it out loud. If you see her today, please wish her a happy 104th birthday. 💔

The government must stop listening to and appeasing the small minority of halfwits, racists, and flag-shaggers who still support Brexit. Brexit was a disaster and it’s time as a nation we accepted this fact.

Great News!
Sky News host Trevor Phillips aged 72 has announced he is stepping down from the channel to take up a new role in the United States. The 72 year old has presented the flagship Sunday Morning with Trevor Phillips show since 2021. Phillips is leaving to join CBS News as its senior global affairs correspondent in a move announced on June 12 2026. He will depart Sky News this summer after more than five years presenting the Sunday morning politics programme. The veteran broadcaster made the unexpected announcement that he is heading to America for the new CBS role. Sky News will be looking for a replacement for the popular host who has been a regular fixture on the channel since joining in 2021. This will be a huge loss as Trevor was one of the few people that held British politicians to account..
