Amazing to use the Lunar occultation of Venus as a way to see Venus with the naked eye at approx 1040am here in UK.
Yay I saw it! - as it reappeared to the right lower limb of the moon.
An outstanding atmospheric phenomena (Hengistbury Head in Dorset) 24th Feb at 1630. A halo-refraction type of event (sun setting behind me to west & crepuscular rays). I wonder what our Stone Age Ancestors on Hengistbury would have made of this? @Spicey_Spiney@BBCWthrWatchers
Another stunning conjunction this evening of the planet Jupiter, a crescent Moon and Venus (lower right). Viewed to SW from Bournemouth.

Some events have attracted more than 100 people (mainly families) - the challenge now is to link this to other local heritage interests such astro-archaeology as people are also fascinated by their prehistoric ancestors and sense of place @TheRealFPA
#FPAdvent Day 22: This winter @ParksFndtn held astronomy events. This brought people to the park who may not usually visit & attendees saw the Moon, Jupiter and Saturn through telescopes! It's one of the many examples of events helping us to see parks in a new & exciting light.
#FPAdvent Day 2: Stour Valley Park, part of our project in Bournemouth supports a rich ecosystem, but it faces challenges. The aim is to make the 25km park free from pollution, re-wild areas & increase biodiversity. Watch the animation for more

Windy today BH6....no it's not #sewage on this occasion nor is it Whale sperm :) Foam forms as organic matter is churned up by the surf. Most sea foam isΒ not harmful to humansΒ & is often an indication of a productive ocean ecosystem.
My favourite 2021 sunset so far from bedroom window at BH6.
An approaching weather front where the higher cloud mass is moving faster than the lower level....
