Just like we should always ask “Could this meeting have been an email?” …we should always ask “Could this PDF have been web page?”

"Great alternative text is also succinct and considers the image’s purpose. In fact, depending on the purpose, the same image could have different alternative text."
As part of our Alternative Text focus for the month of April we created an in depth dive into alternative text. #A11y #AccessibilityFocus blog.pope.tech/2022/04/05/al…

I can't stop thinking about this one, it is quite impressive. I can just imagine the code review on this. I notice you added the aria role of button to both of these elements that together are trying to recreate the default styling and functionality of a link? tabindex -2?

What are you doing at your company to raise awareness of disability and accessibility? No one is going to give you that role. You can create it. Give a 10 minute presentation. Email some stats. Ask who wants to join an informal group.

Interactions with companies support on twitter where they don't try and understand the issue or really even solve it make me cringe. By focusing completely on perception rather than their customer they accomplish nothing. This is in regards to the comments from dominoes
Did @dominos fix their website yet? #accessibility

I also found it interesting that this improvement happened at the same time that the WebAIM million project observed an increase in errors across the top million homepages.
We recently reanalyzed a sample of pages from every college and university website in the US - We are excited to observe a decrease in accessibility errors per page by 17% in the past 12 months! Full report - 4k.pope.tech/2020
