BREAKING: Bill Utz to become Lansing head football coach
Utz steps down at Platte County (MO) after an 18-year run as head coach, where he built one of the state’s top programs. He leaves with a 158–62 record, nine state semifinal appearances, and four state championship game trips.
Platte County won back-to-back undefeated state championships the past two seasons and currently holds the state’s longest active winning streak (28 games). Utz was named Missouri Class 5 Coach of the Year in both 2024 and 2025.
Before Platte County, Utz also served as a head coach at Stewartsville and Mid-Buchanan. Now, he heads to Kansas to take over the Lansing program, bringing a championship résumé with him.
