To Kevin McCarthy, Marge and everyone who keeps claiming that Special Counsel Jack Smith is somehow bias, you are either ignoring the facts or you are intentionally being disingenuous.
- Jack Smith was appointed by Merrick Garland in November 2022 because Garland didn’t want the investigation into Trump to have any bias or appearance of bias.
- In the past, Jack Smith literally oversaw the DOJ’s public integrity section, which investigated wrongdoing by politicians as well as election crimes.
- Jack Smith has worked on the prosecution teams against both Republican and Democrat politicians in the past, including against Democrat former VP candidate John Edwards.
- The entire Code of Federal Regulations says that a special counsel must have “a reputation for integrity and impartial decision making.”
- Jack Smith is a registered Independent.
- In the end, it will not be Jack Smith who determines Trump’s innocents or guilt. It will be an entire jury of his peers, and a verdict requires every single juror on the jury, which is selected by both Trump’s attorneys and the prosecution, to agree that Trump is either innocent or guilty. If any one juror believes differently from the others, there will be no verdict, and there will be a mistrial.
- In the end, the facts will be what determines Trump’s innocents or guilt — not bias!
