Our researchers teamed up with scientists in India to uncover the extent of the suffocating impact of coal mining dust on nearby forests 🌳
The dust – containing aluminium, silica and iron – prevents the trees from ‘breathing’ properly.

Over 70 GCSE students from six local schools visited us yesterday to learn about flooding disasters from our expert geographers.
They found out how we track and map areas affected by flooding and about the human factors behind floods.
