While #vocabularydevelopment may seem daunting, it doesn't have to be! Students acquire new words in two primary ways: through incidental and explicit word learning. #TheVocabularyPlaybook
ALT Vocabulary Development:
Incidental Word Learning: notice and discuss unfamiliar words during daily interactions, wordplay, games, etc.
Explicit Word Learning: Direct Instruction in pronunciations, word meanings, parts of speech, etc.
