We asked quantitatively trained economists to complete a gambling task. When we gave them time to think about it, they did worse.

Termination Shock by Neal Stevenson is really good! Most similar to Reamde in terms of style (near future, fun, not weird). Perhaps the most entertaining book about climate change? Audio book narration is superb too.
