Strength and Conditioning is Sports Science BUT Sports Science is NOT Strength and Conditioning This has huge links to our graduate expectations and skills evaluation

Proud to have been @BRB under David Bintley’s tenure. Some of my career highlights were in his ballets but as the curtain comes down on the company’s final performance under his directorship I want to congratulate him & wish him happiness for the next chapter of his life!

Excited to be able to share our experiences and philosophies of human movement. Always great to work with Ed from @athlete_academy and I’m looking forward to this on behalf of @UKSCA The foundations of human movement: simplifying the complex puzzle
The foundations of human movement: simplifying the complex puzzle. On behalf of @UKSCA with @jamiembond... We’re boiling down a combined 40 years in ballet, rugby, football, military fitness and our global travels in S&C to discuss the most vital movements everyone should master

In sport most people reach a certain level of expertise and then don’t improve further. This is because they don’t practice with a focus on improving. The same happens in coaching. Coaching experience is only practice that leads to improvement if it’s reflected on.

Looking forward to welcoming you bright and early! I’m sure you’ll add value to our practice on what is a very relevant topic!
Excited to be heading up to Man City academy to present to coaches and support staff on all things ‘asymmetry’ (what else). A decent amount of meaningful literature in ⚽️ on this topic now, hopefully this can provide some practical take-home messages.

Great thread here from @dr_jump_uk on the squat #SquattingIsABalanceSkill2018 #dontblametheathlete #givegoodcues is it too easy to blame restricted ankle dorsiflexion? #sinkintothehole
#SquattingIsABalanceSkill2018: The Twitter Remix Warning: this will be a long thread. To be effective in your coaching you need to know why errors happen. In squatting, most errors are due to the fact that athletes are afraid they are going to fall over.

Well said @dr_jump_uk Weightlifting, though just one training modality, can be too effective to neglect. #EasyExcuse #JumpWithTheBar
If you think the Olympic lifts are not good exercises for athletes because they “take too long to learn”, it is worth considering whether you are just not very good at teaching weightlifting. #dontblametheexercise

#agility who wins? Normally the one who starts first. Practice manipulating space, maneuvering apponents, standing opponenets up, slowing opponents down. Learn to recognise when the constraints are in your favour and then be the first to go.

Nothing ground breaking but accelerated hypertrophy facilitated increased capacity for force production and absorption enabling a quicker RTP and less training time lost #BFRT #occlusion #OSD #YouthFootball

Wow, thank you Ed for you kind words. But also for your fantastic mentorship and support these last few years! Wouldn’t be working in this industry without your guidance!
So deserved. An incredible career transition from principal dancer to S&C coach; I’m sure anyone who has been a part of @jamiembond ‘s journey would have quietly been schooled in the following: - Humility - Listening - Willingness to learn - Willingness to do - Quiet resolve.

Honoured to be awarded @UKSCA ‘Richard Holmes Emerging Coach of the Year 2018’! Even more meaningful to be presented the award by Richard’s parents. Humbled by the recognition and motivated to continue to learn and improve! #VegasBound #CPD
