A glorious celebration of architecture, faith, and humanity. Gorgeous and deeply moving. (H/t @stewartbrand)

Shocked to hear David Hockney has died. His huge achievement was to make serious painting look effortless. He carried forward one of the most sustained investigations into vision, space and representation by any post-war artist. British art has lost a giant.

A telltale sign of an ignorant leader is failing to read books. Fiction builds empathy and imagination. Nonfiction boosts concentration and critical thinking. Not reading fuels mental stagnation. Leaders who “don't have time to read” are leaders who don't make time to learn.

I'm more excited for Apple's 27 OSes than I was for the last round. Polish is what's needed, and that's what we're getting. Plus better (fingers crossed!) AI. It's interesting to note the presentation was framed as features coming to Apple's *ecosystem*, with examples showcased in particular platforms. (iPhone, Mac, Vision, etc.) The unification effort is paying off: at least the messaging felt cohesive. Hopefully experiences will as well.

I don't remember how the presentation was structured last year. But in previous years, it was very platform-oriented. "This is what's new in macOS. This is what's new on the Watch. This is what's new in iOS. Etc." The new format signals tighter integration.

The best way to test people in conversation is to ask them a question you're deeply thinking about too.

Uber reportedly now caps coding agents at $1,500/month per employee per tool - seems sensible to me, but it's also an interesting hint at the value Uber thinks these tools are providing simonwillison.net/2026/Jun/3…
