Jaslow: I really empathize with those who have to serve under poor leadership right nowโwhether thatโs the commander-in-chief or the secretary of defense.
There seems to be a lot of theater and posturing that might make them feel the power of the positions theyโre in, but itโs coming at the expense of real people who are risking their lives.
And you also have family members here at home who are concerned about those service members and want them to be serving under steady leadershipโwho want clarity on the mission and why they are being asked to sacrifice so much.
And I donโt know that weโre getting that right now.

What I wish this message articulated was WHY we moved from a mission of deterrence to active combat.
That's not just helpful for buy-in from the American public, but for the troops that are asked to carry out orders of their Commander-in-Chief.

Not just because you can love your battle buddies as much as your family. But because you get all of one day to grieve.

New: The strike yesterday in Kuwait that has now claimed the lives of six US service members was a direct hit on a makeshift operations center โ in what was described as a triple wide trailer โ at the port of Shuaiba, a source familiar said. The strike came so quickly there were no sirens or warning to allow troops to evacuate to a bunker ahead of time.

CENTCOM Update
TAMPA, Fla. โ As of 9:30 am ET, March 1, three U.S. service members have been killed in action and five are seriously wounded as part of Operation Epic Fury.
Several others sustained minor shrapnel injuries and concussions โ and are in the process of being returned to duty. Major combat operations continue and our response effort is ongoing.
The situation is fluid, so out of respect for the families, we will withhold additional information, including the identities of our fallen warriors, until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified.

Hell ya, I'll be very engaged.
I was lucky enough to make it back from the Iraq War, but I happen to know Americans who didn't.
The country they died for deserves better leadership than it has right now, and I'm ready to do something to change that.
