This pandemic has shown me that... Early adopters of bitcoin are NOT risk takers. - They are good at identifying macro risks. - They are extreme preppers. - They are willing to hold hedges to protect themselves despite price volatility, uncertainty, or social acceptance.

Also my view, but ensuring that wealth can be equitably distributed is a human issue that I'm not confident we will solve. The MOST likely outcome is that a few governments or companies will control the overabundance of resources and ration it out to the rest of the sheep.

Sometimes nature adjusts itself ahead of coming changes. Could technologically advanced societies rapid decline in birth rates be a predictor for future improvements in human lifespan and workforce automation?

Of course, this is only a predictor of future prosperity if AI and robotics mature slowly. If they mature quickly, countries with growing populations might find themselves with a surplus of labor, falling incomes, and boatloads of discontent.

Capitalism
The last 5 days simplified: A group of wealthy speculators got upset that their money ended up locked into a 10 year obligation at less than 2% return, so they convinced government it was in everyone’s best interest to help them out of their jam at the expense of everyone else.

Technology is neutral, but the people building and deploying it are not. Most cryptotoken projects exist only to enrich their founders by fleecing "investors". We build Monero to safeguard people's freedom. That's the difference btw building a currency and just making money.

Tail emissions can be smart. If you aren't the flavor of the month with enough of a fee market to persistently incentivize miners, someone can use that window to attack the chain. #Monero #Dogecoin #Ethereum are the only major coins that have it. x.com/fnietom/status/1361378…

Apparently that matches the date when it reached its supply cap. Having no mining subsidy and little transaction fees, it only costs about $400 to reorg a whole month worth of blocks. I wonder how many confirmations require @hitbtc and @cz_binance for deposits.

It is amazing that we can talk about the dollar losing it's top status at all without sounding crazy. The euro dollar demand will surely squeeze the USD higher as the last final hurrah. It will go quickly from, I can't get it To, I don't need or want it.

The Dollar Wrecking Ball: I hear the narratives that the Fed is printing money...Brrr... and that is going to cause a dollar collapse. I worry that this narrative is very wrong. My strongly held view is that the dollar is the pinnacle of all the macro issues we face. 1/

Right; the "full faith and credit" is mainly marketing; it's unclear what action the government would take if the FDIC itself failed for some reason.
