Lake Days 2026 did not disappoint. It was great to march in the parade alongside the Cowichan-Malahat-Langford Conservatives and see so many familiar faces out celebrating this incredible community. Lake Cowichan residents know how to put on a show — thank you for the warm welcome and for everything you do to make this riding such a great place to call home. #LakeDays2026 #CowichanMalahatLangford #LakeCowichan

Buying a used car just got more interesting. Conservatives are proposing to eliminate the GST on used vehicle purchases — that's a saving of over $1,800 on the average used car. For residents across the Westshore and Cowichan Valley who rely on a second-hand vehicle to get to work or get the kids to school, that money stays where it belongs: in your family's pocket, not Ottawa's. This is what real affordability looks like. #CowichanMalahatLangford #AffordabilityNow #VancouverIsland

A local literacy organization did everything right — and is still being penalized. Literacy Now Cowichan received a Canada Summer Jobs grant, spent every dollar as intended, and delivered real results for Cowichan Valley residents. Their only misstep? A late report — caused by Service Canada failing to notify them when their assigned representative left. No heads-up. No handoff. Just a repayment demand. No response to their requests for review. I've written to Minister Hajdu asking her to waive the repayment and require Service Canada to notify clients when their representative changes.

Statistics Canada reported a recession — 3 of the last 4 quarters in decline. GDP missed forecasts significantly. Meanwhile, the IMF — based in Washington — called Canada’s economy “resilient.” I’ll take the agency that measures Canada, for Canadians. The Conservative plan meets Canadians where they actually are: lower taxes, Canadian energy unleashed, less government waste, more money in your pocket. Real numbers. Real solutions. Canada first. #Canada #CdnPoli #CanadaFirst #RealEconomy

The federal government just extended the firearms amnesty — again. Not because the policy is working, but because the Supreme Court of Canada is now questioning whether it was ever legal to begin with. Here’s what gets buried in these announcements: not one of these firearms was banned through a vote in Parliament. They were prohibited overnight by Order in Council — a Cabinet decree, no debate, no elected vote. “Assault-style” isn’t a legal definition. It’s a vague label stretched to cover thousands of lawfully owned firearms belonging to licensed, vetted, responsible Canadians. Hunters. Sport shooters. Collectors. They did everything right — and they’re the ones paying the price. Meanwhile, the illegal handguns driving the vast majority of gun violence in this country remain the real problem — and this policy does nothing to address them. I support licensing. I support safe storage. I support keeping firearms out of the wrong hands. What I don’t support is policy theatre dressed up as public safety. The Supreme Court will have its say. Until then — know your rights, and know your MP is paying attention. #cdnpoli #BCpoli #VancouverIsland #CML #PublicSafety #StandOnGuard

The next generation showed up on Parliament Hill! It was a pleasure to welcome Duncan high school students to Ottawa through the Duncan and Ottawa Rotary clubs for a tour of Parliament — and great to speak with them in person. Curious, engaged, and asking all the right questions. #CowichanMalahatLangford #DuncanRotary

This is your MP at work. I asked the General directly — and he confirmed on the record: all recommendations accepted, 8 are already implemented. Real accountability. Real results for the people who serve this country.

Seventy years of marriage. A lifetime of lifting others up. This month I joined Bob and Norma Saunders to celebrate their seventieth anniversary — and to honour all Bob has done for veterans, youth sport, health care and the arts across Vancouver Island. Thank you, Bob and Norma. Vancouver Island is better for you both. #VancouverIsland #CML #Veterans #ServiceBeforeSelf

On Saturday night, pub workers in Lake Cowichan told me they can’t afford groceries. The Liberals’ fix? A recycled grocery stunt that cuts off at $59,000 — shutting out full-time workers. In the House, the PM laughed at suffering Canadians. It’s time he stopped laughing and started caring.

An eye-opening day riding along with North Cowichan Bylaw Officer Dave Elley. The challenges our municipality faces around homelessness, addiction, mental health and organized crime are very real — and the people on the front lines deserve our deepest respect. Thank you Dave and the entire North Cowichan Bylaw team for the important and difficult work you do for our community every single day. These conversations matter.

Today is Canadian Armed Forces Day — the first Sunday in June, when we recognize the women and men who put on the uniform and stand on guard for all of us. Right here on Vancouver Island, that service is woven into daily life. From the sailors and families based out of Esquimalt to the reservists and personnel who call this Island home, these are the people who make the difference — at home and abroad. I wore the uniform myself as a naval officer before this job, and that commitment hasn’t gone anywhere. As your MP and on the Standing Committee on National Defence, I’ll keep showing up for the men and women in uniform — fighting to make sure they have the support, the equipment, and the respect they’ve earned. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. 🇨🇦 #CanadianArmedForces #RCN #StandOnGuard #RCAF #StrongProudReady @RoyalCanNavy @RCAF_ARC @CanadianArmy

We had the privilege of visiting the Tsow-Tun-Le-Lum Society Substance Use and Trauma Treatment Centre in Duncan — an incredible organization providing in-patient treatment for First Nations, Métis and Inuit people struggling with addiction, trauma and mental health. A heartfelt thank you to Nola, Executive Director, for taking the time to share the vital work being done here. The dedication and compassion of this team is inspiring.

The Canadian Forces Snowbirds aren't just an air show — they're a recruitment tool, a symbol of unity, and a source of national pride. With no replacement aircraft plan in sight, their future is uncertain. Add your name and tell the Liberal government: keep the Snowbirds flying. 🇨🇦 👉 conservative.ca/cpc/dont-can…

At National Defence Committee, I pressed the Liberal Government on a serious gap in Canada’s defence planning. Non-kinetic threats like coercive trade, foreign interference, and supply chain weaponization are strategic threats to Canada’s sovereignty and national security. Canada needs a real Defence Industrial Strategy that protects our economy, our supply chains, and our Armed Forces. These threats are already here, and I am pressing the government to take them seriously before they become kinetic.
