Great journalism from @lydiadepillis @nytimes covering convenience stores and how prices are established. I especially appreciated how well she articulated the dynamics between branded vs unbranded and large bs smaller operators. Worth a read if you want to some background on the c-store industry. cc @jefflenard @NACSonline @Cinco70Denton @GasBuddyGuy @TomKloza @pditechnologies
Today from me: How do gas stations actually set prices at times like these? Sometimes with sophisticated software, sometimes with magnets. nytimes.com/2026/04/20/busin…

Thank you, Mr. President, for supporting Main Street and its customers. We now need Congress to pass the Credit Card Competition Act. @RogerMarshallMD
Everyone should support great Republican Senator Roger Marshall’s Credit Card Competition Act, in order to stop the out of control Swipe Fee ripoff. Roger is a FANTASTIC Senator!!! Did you see them at the NACS Show? "Clerks" stars Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith talk about their 30-plus-year love affair with convenience stores in a freewheeling conversation that takes a few tangents. traffic.libsyn.com/convenien…

Eighty years ago a one-cent change in the price of gas was a big jump, and fuels dispensers were able to measure precise volumes. Intense price competition, plus some regulation, institutionalized the practice. Today, anything other than 0.9 cent pricing is unusual in the United States. convenience.org/Topics/Fuels…

Rutter's showcases what it means to be a responsible retailer.
Josh Shapiro went to a Rutters to celebrate that you can now buy canned cocktails at gas stations and grocery stores in PA -- but forgot his ID and they apparently wouldn't sell to him.

On June 10, 1964, a Colorado store only sold 124 gallons of gas to a dozen or so customers, but as we all know, selling fuel would never be the same... bit.ly/4ckZHsl
