Heartbreaking and coming for more of us. My daily panic focuses on figuring out how I will to fund students and keep my lab open without another grant, and Iโm not alone. So many of us want to be here, do science, and mentor but without federal support, our labs will close. ๐

We are welcoming Scottie Mello, an UBC Biology major, in the lab this semester.
They will work on a project to understand the directionality at cellular level. A super-fundamental biology question, where plants provide a trackable system.

Between the catastrophic funding cuts and the quietly but sharply increasing foreign recruitment of American talent, the US is set to lose its lead in science and technology far faster than most people on here have any idea of
CDMRP decisions dropped today. They funded 19 grants. Total. For the whole program. 1.9%. Not sure how anyone is supposed to survive this kind of environment.
