NEW: In 2020, as President Trump tried to overturn his loss to Joe Biden, the institutional guardrails of American democracy held — barely.
A @ProPublica investigation found that, ahead of the midterms, Trump has systematically demolished those guardrails. 🧵
The secretary of state’s office erroneously sent election result data to a Nevada Independent server before polls closed.
It includes results from about 66,000 votes cast. It’s illegal for results to be publicized before voting ends. See the latest:

NEW: I've obtained video clips of the March 12 incident in which Maricopa County Recorder's Office employees allegedly took a scanner from MCTEC.
One appears to be Chief Information Officer Bryan Colby, the other is blurred. See a clip below.

California always takes about a month to finish counting. They are mostly a mail voting state (90% or so) & count ballots postmarked on Election Day, which they might not get for a week. Then signature verification begins.
Since when does long timeline automatically = fraud?
New details are emerging on the Trump administration efforts to investigate voter fraud. The FBI has interviewed an election skeptic in Wisconsin as part of its expanding probe, which may be aimed more at 2026 and 2028 than 2020. w/@AlexanderShurvotebeat.org/national/2026/0…
The No Labels Party is another political party, just like Democrat and Republican. It is not an "independent party." An Independent Party is not recognized in the state of Arizona.
When Bolles pulled out of his parking spot to leave, a remote control blast of six sticks of dynamite shattered his Datsun.
From the asphalt, Bolles said the words, "Mafia," "Emprise," and "John Adamson."

NEW Recorder Justin Heap's response to Maricopa County Board approving ballot drop boxes, etc.: Wants judge to hold board in civil contempt. County response coming. War rages with 24 days to go until voters get early ballots for primary.
There’s a quiet all out war for the future of our country. Let us not misdirect our precious resources.
I do not believe I lost due to fraudulent votes, mail-in ballots, hacking, or mistabulated results. I respect those who want to make sure, but I won’t be requesting a recount.
SCOOP: Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap referred voters that he claims are noncitizens to the Arizona Attorney General’s Office this afternoon.
It comes after state prosecutors suggested they could take legal action against him. Read: votebeat.org/arizona/2026/05…

"It was Sunday, March 7, 1965, when Mauldin, who was 17, joined hundreds of other demonstrators in a march from Selma, Alabama, to the state Capitol in Montgomery to demand voting rights for Black Americans."

ABC News has now taken all FiveThirtyEight articles completely offline. They now redirect to abcnews dot com/politics. A needless erasure of thousands of pages of knowledge.
The Auditor General of Pennsylvania recently audited 210,905 voter registration forms.
He found 1 non-citizen in that batch. That non-citizen never voted. And was later removed from the voter rolls.

We're at 993 subscribers. If we can hit 1,000 by the end of the week I'll include a photo in the next edition of me as a kid super excited to find two bananas in one peel. Trust me it's fascinating and you'll want to see it.
The NYT appears to have taken a great feature story written by my colleague at Bolts about a West Tennessee county & the VRA, & essentially rewritten it. (Same frame, similar hed, overlapping sources.)
