Today marks the 10 year anniversary of my first lintr commit (github.com/r-lib/lintr/commi…) Hard to believe it was 10 years ago Apparently originally I called it styleR, long before the current styler package came into being 😄

And on Oct. 17th is really starting looking more like the package like it is today. Including using the AST (Abstract Syntax tree) to define linters rather than just relying on regular expressions. github.com/r-lib/lintr/commi…

Lintr has since had 98! 🤯 contributors, and @michael_chirico and @patilindrajeets are currently driving most of the development 🙏 It was truly a success and I hope it has helped the #rstats community in the last 10 years.

dev rel circa September 2000 there's an entire generation of devs who have never seen Steve Ballmer sweating through his dress shirt during a Microsoft keynote screaming "developers". let's fix that. also if you've seen it here's the full video with context.

Started my career working in David’s lab, would definitely recommend it to those in the genomics space!
I am looking for postbac or postdoctoral researchers! Anyone interested in applying whole genome sequencing, dual RNA-seq, scRNA-seq and/or spatial transcriptomics to study host/pathogen interactions during malaria infections?

It is surprising there doesn’t seem to be a dplyr polars backend. The rust API seems very much aligned with dplyr’s, but github.com/pola-rs/r-polars instead is using an R6 style syntax

.@quarto_pub having a good story for publishing to google docs / google slides would be a killer feature for us. Output to docx and then import into google docs works, but it is clunky, still somewhat manual, and there isn't a clear way to update an existing document.

lintr 3.1.0 is now on CRAN! There are tons of changes, too many to list here, but please read the release notes (github.com/r-lib/lintr/relea…) for details. Huge thanks to @michael_chirico, @patilindrajeets, and all of the many other contributors for all of their hard work🙏

🫤 Unfortunately, I was affected by last week's layoffs at @posit_pbc along with a handful of other talented colleagues. 🖤 I’m bummed, but so grateful for the 5½ yrs w/ my incredible team. 🔍 Taking some time to recoup, but will be on the hunt for new opportunities soon!

Amazing replies to this tweet on adding curvy arrows to your #Rstats plots! Here are four resources folks shared: ➡️ @MattCowgill: github.com/MattCowgill/ggann… ➡️ @rappa753: x.com/rappa753/status/161295… ➡️ @CedScherer: cedricscherer.com/2019/05/17… ➡️ @cararthompson: cararthompson.com/talks/user…
The incredible graphic folks over at @FiveThirtyEight (e.g., @ryanabest, @elena___mejia, & @humeralodhi) often add little curvy arrows to their graphs, which I understand is usually done in Illustrator or JavaScript. Does anyone know how to do something like this in #Rstats?

The MRAN site will be retired on July 1. This will affect R users who use the daily CRAN snapshot archive hosted there (e.g. via the checkpoint package). More info: blog.revolutionanalytics.com… #rstats
