The Labour government decided not to invite Elon Musk to the UK investment summit.
The guy who is catching reusable rockets like the Karate Kid catches a fly in chopsticks. The guy who has launched 2/3rds of the satellites in orbit and who's brought fast internet to every corner of the earth as a side project. The guy who's developing electric cars and robots. The guy who's a cofounder of the leading AI companies. The richest man in the world, and potentially the biggest investor into the UK.
Why can't he come? He said nasty things they don't like to hear. He was public about his criticism for locking people up for dumb stuff the said online. He's a champion for a more radical form of free speech and meritocracy than they are. He's an advocate for judging people by their actions rather their wrong-think or adherence to the loony tunes ideology of the day.
This is typical of politicians. You get access if you are nice to us, you loose privileges if you are critical. It's how they pick their cabinets and doll out their top jobs.
If the UK economy really came first they would park their grievances and welcome Musk with open arms. They'd find out how the UK can be a leader in space, automation, AI and robotics. They'd ask him for his opinions on how to curb online disinformation or creating more online cohesion.
Alas, socialists hate entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs show that a lot gets done without the state, meritocracy beats victimhood and truly smart people don't end up in politics.
The tower has caught the rocket!!
