My two most recent play publications - Divine Vision: William Blake in Felpham and The Pilgrim's Progress are available from @TSLpub The Pilgrim's Progress Step into an unforgettable journey with this epic adaptation of John Bunyan’s timeless allegory, The Pilgrim’s Progress. Originally commissioned by the Royal Shakespeare Company, this dramatization brings to the stage the tale of Christian, who flees the City of Destruction on a perilous quest to reach the Celestial City. Guided by Evangelist, Christian encounters a host of vivid characters—both friends and foes—including the treacherous Mr Worldly Wiseman, the loquacious Talkative, and the fearsome Apollyon. We follow Christian’s trials as he battles through the murky Slough of Despond, faces persecution at the chaotic Vanity Fair, and confronts the enormous Giant Despair in the menacing Doubting Castle. Meanwhile, his family endures their own hardships in his absence, adding a poignant counterpoint to his epic journey. tslbooks.uk/product/the-pilg… Divine Vision: William Blake in Felpham London, 1800. Things aren’t going too well for William Blake. He lacks work, his wife worries over the bills, he’s seeing visions of the Apocalypse, and his planned epic poem on the divine remains unwritten. When Blake gets an offer from famous poet William Hayley to leave London and settle in a cottage at the seaside village of Felpham, he jumps at the chance. In Felpham, things don’t quite work out the way Blake had them planned… tslbooks.uk/product/divine-v… The cover designs are by brilliant @MiddlesexUni BA Graphic Design graduate Phillip Block.

In 2026 you can get arrested for not printing a train ticket. It’s a form of societal insanity.
🚨UK train passenger arrested for not printing his ticket despite showing proof on his phone. Officer ignored common sense and enforced rigid company policy. Labour’s Britain buries citizens in bureaucracy and petty tyranny. Restore sanity and serve the people. x.com/ChaosLensX/status/2066…

What a terrifying picture. A film would be lit and framed like this to appear sinister. That Starmer's team thinks it's a positive look is worrying.
I am simply not prepared to be a bystander when the safety and happiness of our children are at stake. We will ban social media access for under 16s, and give children their childhoods back. Read more about it here: keirstarmer.substack.com/p/g…

Perhaps the biggest takeaway from this is the erosion of parental authority. Until recently, parents decided what their kids watched, when they went to bed and put the light out, what they ate, who they saw. Now, parents don't seem to be able to direct a single aspect of their children's lives. The question is, why? What social phenomena or ideologies have brought this about?

People will attack this policy, but after extensive government consultation, 90% of the parents of under-16s support it. They have watched social media consume huge portions of their children’s lives, so have a very different perspective. Social media amplifies narcissism, materialism, envy and division at an age when young minds are still developing. It keeps children trapped in a digital ecosystem designed to maximise engagement at the expense of real-world experiences, time outdoors, hobbies, independence, and learning how to socialise and build genuine friendships. Perhaps most damaging of all, it encourages constant comparison. Children are measuring themselves against carefully curated versions of other people’s lives every hour of every day. It creates feelings of inadequacy and anxiety on a scale that older generations simply never experienced. There will be much outrage about this, but this policy is truly about protecting children, and anyone who cares about the future of society should support it.

Prison time is prison time and is difficult for everyone - these 4 will come out to NGO jobs, book contracts and paid speakers engagement. Thats not what happens to working class people in prison they come out to homelessness, stigma & prejudice, high percentage go on to commit other crimes. Dont feel sorry for these.

Russell T Davies's Tip Toe (2026) wants to be a searing warning about modern Britain. Instead, it plays like a fever dream in which suburban football dads suddenly decide to lynch a gay neighbour from a lamppost. Watchable nonsense, perhaps - but nonsense all the same. letterboxd.com/jmcfire/film/…

Richard Burgon voted in favour of the key provisions of the Counter-Terrorism and Sentencing Bill 2021 (which expanded the terrorist connection sentencing powers).
The sentences handed to four young activists for taking direct action at an Israeli arms factory are completely disproportionate and wrong. They've been sentenced for a "terrorist connection" they were never charged with. A clear miscarriage of justice and dangerous precedent.
