News: CBS has terminated Scott Pelley's contract after his fiery denunciation of new 60M exec producer Nick Bilton and leadership of Bari Weiss.
In note to Pelley, obtained by NPR, Bilton said he "hijacked" first meeting with show's staff and refused constructive path forward.

🚨 Arcadia Mayor Eileen Wang in California has been charged with acting as an illegal agent of the People’s Republic of China in the United States.
Mayor Wang admitted to acting as a foreign agent from at least 2020 through 2022 - promoting PRC propaganda in the U.S. and acting at PRC’s direction to promote their interests. She has agreed to resign from office and plead guilty.

A page ripped from the authoritarian playbook, the FCC is once again being used as President Trump’s personal vendetta machine. Today’s order is a clear authoritarian tactic to intimidate and threaten ABC and other media.
This undermines the FCC’s independence, as the agency abuses its regulatory powers to target broadcasters at the command of the President and punish the President’s perceived enemies.
The agency must start taking its responsibility to respect freedom of the press and freedom of expression seriously.

“Threatening the life of the President of the United States is a grave violation of our nation’s laws,” said Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche. “The grand jury returned an indictment alleging James Comey did just that, at a time when this country has witnessed violent incitement followed by deadly actions against President Trump and other elected officials. The temperature needs to be turned down, and anyone who dials it up and threatens the life of the President will be held accountable.”
