My AI coding agent just told me I "cracked the case." We're hunting down a bug and I noticed a fix under certain conditions. The AI coding agent couldn't find it on its own. I guess these old meatballs are still occasionally useful 😂😂😂😂😂

Wonderful to see that AI now means that things that use to be be free with the product now cost "AI tokens," @descript Yes, people notice.

@RiversidedotFM if your editing tools didn't totally suck for multiple layers, I could use just one tool

Figure has now cumulatively produced more than 660 humanoid robots. It's still very early in the S-curve, but the real-world data flywheel has truly been activated.

The iPhone = birth control? New research seems to indicate ... yes. "Overall, the diffusion of the iPhone explains 33–52% of the decline in the general fertility rate among women aged 15–44." Perhaps smartphones are a better boredom pacifier?

Wild that hackers stole Instagram accounts ... JUST BY ASKING META'S CHATBOT FOR THEM. I mean, just insane. "Meta fixed the bug that let anyone trick its Meta AI chatbot into resetting the password on Instagram accounts that didn't have two-factor authentication."

Saudi Arabia is halting construction of its $1 trillion "The Line" linear city of skyscrapers. Remember, this was supposed to be two 170-kilometer long dual skyscrapers. !!!! Feeling very vindicated: I called this instantly as soon as I saw it. Utterly idiotic.

Got pitched on a "Cash App Wand" You pay 4 stuff by using it on contactless terminals "The Cash App Wand taps into the rise of whimsical living ... consumers are turning mundane moments—like grocery runs or getting gas—into opportunities for self-expression." Uggh ...

🦔UC Berkeley's computer science department just posted its worst failure rates in years. 35.3% of CS 10 students got F's in spring 2026, up from under 10% in prior semesters. Professor Dan Garcia says the primary driver is a "vast increase in academic dishonesty" through LLMs. Students use AI to complete assignments, never learn the material, then fail exams. His office hours, once full, are now empty. My Take Companies are firing experienced engineers while the pipeline that produces new ones is being gutted by the same technology. Students use AI to bypass the hard part of learning, show up to exams without the understanding, and fail. One professor discovered a student's linear algebra class had an "open AI" policy for homework and exams. That student then couldn't do basic linear algebra in the next course. Both ends of the workforce are eroding at the same time. Senior engineers are getting cut to fund AI spending. Junior engineers are graduating without the skills because AI did their coursework. And the companies spending trillions on these tools haven't connected those two facts yet. Hedgie🤗

We're excited to see the launch of the federal government's AI for All strategy and its focus on helping more Canadians and businesses benefit from AI. At Sanctuary AI, we're building solutions that can help address industrial labour shortages, increase productivity, and drive economic growth. As Canada looks to strengthen its competitiveness, Physical AI has an important role to play. We're proud to be building this technology in Canada and look forward to contributing to the next chapter of Canadian AI leadership. @MarkJCarney @EvanLSolomon #AIForAll #PhysicalAI #Robotics #MadeInCanada

I chatted with Bernt and Sam yesterday about 1X's new world models. Impressive plans! More: forbes.com/sites/johnkoetsie…
We’re going all in on World Models. Today we’re launching the 1X World Model Lab. The bet is simple: You can’t fine-tune your way to AGI. And you definitely can’t fine-tune your way to robots that can operate in the physical world. General-purpose humanoids need models that understand space, motion, objects, causality, affordances, physics, and action before they ever see a specific task. The frontier is not better VLA wrappers. The frontier is embodied world models. The 1X World Model Lab will focus on large-scale embodied world model pretraining: building the most generalizable foundation model for humanoid robots from the ground up. The next frontier in AI requires scaling: web-scale media egocentric human videos sim dexterous remote operated robot data on-policy NEO data → real-world deployment for robot data collection and RL → abundance of data → physical AI The robot collects data. The model gets better. The robot gets better. Repeat. To lead this, we brought in one of the best for the mission: @_sam_sinha_ , as Head of World Models. Sam was a founding research scientist at Luma AI and has been at the frontier of scaling multimodal generative video models his whole career. If you’re the best in the world at large-scale pretraining, video models, robotics, RL, infra, or data — and you want your models to move atoms, not just pixels — join us. Send background evidence of exceptional ability to: wmlab@1x.tech We’re building the model that makes autonomous labor real.

By firing Scott Pelley, editor-in-chief of CBS News Bari Weiss has single-handedly destroyed the most brilliant investigative newsmagazine in network history, 60 Minutes. Weiss exemplifies everything MAGA is about: ego, incompetence, and blithering idiocy.

Scott Pelley issues new statement after being fired by CBS for opposing their pro-MAGA bias: “New management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them. Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done. Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.”
