This is hilarious. In the Brexit referendum and afterwards the prospect of Nissan leaving our shores was depicted as close to the end of days. Now it has decided not just to stay but invest a further £2 billion in Sunderland it is a “failing brand”. Truly has the whole Brexit debate discombobulated brains on both sides of the divide.
Once they spent 20 years and billions they were likely to stay but Nissan are a failing brand. Their global sales are shrinking. Models are dated and expensive.
Sunderland is their last gasp European saloon. Strangely European sales falling post Brexit. See figure below..
