Very loud bang from apparent intercept over Dubai just now while civilian planes pass high over head. President of UAE has told local media; ‘ we are not an easy target’.

Reports that the US consulate in Dubai has been targeted. Social media pictures show fire and smoke rising. Follows Iranian strike on US Embassy in Saudi overnight.

Just watched an UAE warplane and air defences active over Dubai again just now. Big thump and at least two interceptors streaking into the sky. Seem to have been successful.

We can hear - mostly distant - thuds and bangs in the sky over Dubai again tonight. UAE defences said to be working hard to intercept another Iran barrage. At some stage Gulf states will have to decide whether to hit back.

Two loud ‘thumps’ heard in the skies over Dubai just now - quite possibly missile or drone intercept not too far from our hotel on the sea front .

At the UAE border. Some idea of the scale of the Iranian attack from the Ministry of Defence here which has dealt with 165 ballistic missiles, 2 Cruise missiles and 541 drones since yesterday. Most have been intercepted. Three people have died and 58 have been wounded.
