European Parliament's 🇪🇺 cross-party, pro-choice campaign. We are mobilising support for the right to access modern contraception and safe & legal abortion.
Today, the Brussels region approved the destruction of all of these trees in this, the last large private garden in the Squares district. It could have become a small park attached to the Brussels City annex a few doors away. Instead it will be flats and parking.
After a long night of negotiations, we've reached an 🇪🇺 agreement on the due diligence of multinationals.
After 4 years of fighting, we've taken a decisive step against the impunity of companies that destroy human rights & the planet.
But with some issues because of Macron ⬇️
🇭🇺 We condemn the Hungarian government’s issuing of a decree that will force women seeking abortion care to listen to the embryonic cardiac activity before being able to access fundamental healthcare.

🇭🇺 In Fidesz' #Hungary, the gov't just tightened access to #abortion by decree. Under the new rules, women must:
A. Undergo an ultrasound, confirming that the
pregnancy is viable.
B. Secure the signature of their husband/partner agreeing to the termination.

The trial against Polish women’s human rights activist Justyna Wydrzyńska is postponed to 14th October. Members of the European Parliament ask the Polish authorities to drop all charges against her. She had helped a woman in need to access abortion.

🇵🇱 Today we follow the trial of Justyna, charged in Poland for supporting a woman access abortion care.
It is unconceivable that a woman rights defender faces jail time for doing the compassionate thing and helping others in need. #IamJustyna#jakJustyna

.@TerryReintke: We see that so often the issues of fundamental rights are so closely linked with rule of law matters in member states. One example is the question of fundamental rights, of sexual self determination and sexual reproductive rights in Poland.
🇪🇺 The Conference on the Future of Europe is a crucial opportunity for the EU and Member States to strengthen their feminist leadership and advance sexual and reproductive health and rights.
These are our recommendations 👉🏼 bit.ly/3pA0VZT#UnionOfEquality
