ALT Dear Mayor and Transport for London
Yesterday someone was killed crossing the south circular / A215 in Tulse Hill. This was at a pedestrian crossing where the pedestrian had the green light. This is the third person to be killed on this stretch of road in six years. The road is highly dangerous, with drivers speeding around a blind corner, often at speeds in excess of 40mph. We urgently need action to make this TfL road safe please. We need:
- an immediate 20mph speed limit introduced
- immediate enforcement via speed cameras
- engineering and other measures to reduce speeds and improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists
- TfL need to re-start the plans to remove the dangerous Tulse Hill gyratory.
This needs urgent action now please. We cannot wait any longer.
Thank you.
Awful news. This is the 3rd person killed on the south circular in Tulse Hill in 6 years.
This is a dangerous road where drivers race through the junction at excessive speed.
TfL promised to remove the Tulse Hill gyratory but appeared to run out of money & will. We need action
Why is Living Streets calling for a maximum 30 seconds wait for the green signal? #BetterCrossings
Research has shown that this is about the longest pedestrians wait before they take risks.

Rishi Sunak has claimed that to pay a 10% pay rise to all public sector employees will cost each household in the UK £1,000. This is what I call CRAp - which stands for a ‘completely rubbish approximation’ to the truth. Let me explain…a thread…
BRIXTON/LONDON 📣
I found this picture by Jebb Avenue/Brixton Prison bus stop. Must've slipped out of a wallet. It looks very precious and I imagine whoever lost it on their travels will be devastated.
Can we do that thing? Retweet, share, reunite owner and photograph?
A remarkable email indeed 👇
But no mention of simply *not driving* children to school! 🙄
They should be taking the bus (the school provides them!), train, cycling or walking 🛤️🚶♀️🚲
And if it's not feasible, send your kids to the local primary, not a private prep miles away..
Dangerous driving and parking is so endemic in Dulwich that the Headmaster of @DulwichPrep felt compelled to send this remarkable email to all parents last week. Can @MPSDulwichHill take action against drivers around the school? @AndySimmons10@nocarschoolrun@WestDulParent

It’s been a bit quiet lately. We would really love to see our beautiful restaurant bustling and fizzing with energy again. If you need any persuading, here are some of our latest advocates 🥰
Seems @easyJet are claiming flights cancelled today are "extraordinary circumstance" so they aren't on the hook for compensation. Anyone expert know if they're taking the piss or is this one actually fair?
No L.G.B without the T - fact - your phobias really don’t count - why not spend your energy treating others with respect, be kind, be nice and do good things, the world is so fucking dark - why not be a light on this rocky road

People from all parts of the estate want cycle parking but only @optivohomes have installed any. @MetTVH and @NHGhousing when will you give residents decent secure cycle parking
If you visit @HillsideGdns please will you bring water with you to for the fruit trees and shrubs. A 2 pint milk bottle is easy to carry, it is worthwhile as this dry weather continues. Take you pick of tree, plant shrub and flower.
