Some of my friends and I overcommit to things, so we made "Saying No to Things" punch cards. If you say no to 10 things, your friends have to buy you an ice cream.
In a pilot study, we found participants both said no to more things and got more free ice cream.

My hot train take: the Shinkansen is ok.
Limited expresses are so much more interesting and fun to ride.
Many people get JR passes and don’t experience trains here other than the Shinkansen, mostly because they don’t know what options are available. I want to share that info!
