I couldn’t be happier for my friend and colleague @baselinescene , who won the #NobelPrize today. Incredible recognition for his work. 10 yrs ago he brought me into the Global Economics and Management faculty group at #MIT . We have published and taught together since, including, I’m proud to say, cofounding a course on #AI that was the 1st of its kind (on offer to MIT students again in Spring). The picture below is from the first time we taught that class together. Simon has mentored and supported me throughout. Every time he crosses the corridor to my office to discuss his latest thinking, I know I’m going to learn something. Also delighted for @DAcemogluMIT a Nobel co-recipient today - an incredible MIT colleague and a giant in the field. Can you believe I get paid to work with people like this! @MITSloan

Dawa died tragically on Manaslu. A fantastic man & great friend. We climbed Everest together and had wonderful times. He was generous, great fun and always looked out for other people. Condolences to his family and all his friends in Nepalese community.
